A List Of Questions To Ask A Breeder Of Eurasiers

Is the Dam Hip scored and patella tested?

  • Answer should be yes to both

Is the Dam eye tested for DISTICHIASIS, ENTROPION or ECTROPION?

  • Answer should be yes to both and the dog should be clear

Is the Sire Hip scored and patella tested?

  • Answer should be yes to both

Is the Sire eye tested for DISTICHIASIS, ENTROPION or ECTROPION?

  • Answer should be yes to both and the dog should be clear.

Can I see copies of this test?

  • Answer should be yes

Why did you pick the Sire?

  • Answer should be along the lines of : I thought he was the best male to go with my female. I meet the dog and am happy with his temperament and over all body.

(Most breeders put a lot of thought in to any Male they would like to use on their female)


Do you puppies live in the house?

  • Eurasiers should always be reared in the Home as it is of top most importance to the overall mental health

Have you socialized the puppies in any way?

  • Puppies should be used to general noise in the home i.e washing machines and hovers, the breeder should also have handled the puppies a lot.

Dose the dam still see and play with the pups?

  • My puppies have contact with their mother right up until the pups leave to go to their new homes,

Have the puppy been wormed?

  • Most puppies are wormed by the breeder from 2 weeks old for every 2 weeks until the owner takes over and their vet advises them on what is best.

What are you or will you be feeding the puppies on?

  • There are lots of different foods around and the main reason you need to ask this question is so you can find a pet store that stocks the food you need .

Can I meet the dam?

  • This should be a definite yes !

Can I contact the owner of the Sire?

  • This should be a yes also.

Do you like to keep in contact with any people or family that buy puppies or dogs from you?

  • Breeders should wont to keep in contact and receive photos of their puppies and be happy that you are asking.
